The Opportunity

As a Junior Developer / Application Support Engineer, you will be the interface between our users, members and the development teams, troubleshooting application issues for our partner websites, internal applications and back-end systems, solving problems and working with senior developers to resolution. This is not a network or helpdesk support position, but an application support position with a path to become a full time developer.

You will triage, prioritize, and drive resolution for member issues with our partner websites, internal applications and backend systems

Work directly with Member Services to resolve member issues

Carry out root cause analysis of incidents after they’ve been resolved and work with the development team to make permanent fixes when necessary

Update our application knowledge base with new or missing information

You will become the subject-matter expert (SME) for our internal applications and share your knowledge with Product and Business Analysts, helping them understand any dependencies for new features

Working regularly with the Development Team, you will learn how to debug existing software and help offload developer support responsibilities.

you will be learning to develop fixes for defects and writing scripts or code for new features

You will work with the latest technologies, tools, and processes

You will participate in an on-call rotation

Requirements

  • An insatiable interest in technology, and in solving problems;
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience supporting applications as a junior software developer or App Support Specialist in a business environment (scripting and/or coding), working in any modern language (Java, .net, Scala, etc.)
  • Some demonstrable knowledge of SQL queries
  • Experience working with ManageEngine or similar ticketing tool
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and passion for working with software, users, and solving problems
  • You are a fast learner, willing and able to learn to use new tools for monitoring, debugging, troubleshooting, programming and communicating
  • Extra points for experience working with: Salesforce.com, Manage Engine, Confluence, Monitoring tools like Kibana, Elastic Search, or Datadog, Git, intellij, Zendesk, RedHat/Centos
