Overview

Manage a range of sourcing initiatives from consumables to services to IT hardware, support and licensing.   Oversee the procurement of goods and services from both local and national suppliers and contractors.  Manage enterprise-wide projects from inception to completion including scheduling, contract negotiation, implementation, and post implementation support.  Develop and maintain effective relationships with business unit and supplier personnel to identify new sourcing and project opportunities.  Compile quarterly savings and compliance reports to demonstrate the financial performance of sourcing initiatives. 

Responsibilities

  • Projects split between IT and Operations
  • Implement improvements in processes and procedures for sourcing, inventories, and payments
  • Lead commodity councils to leverage company expenses across all publishing business units
  • Create strategic sourcing alliances with preferred suppliers and work with functional stakeholders to promote standardized products and services
  • Evaluate and promote preferred suppliers to leverage volumes and reduce costs
  • Establish and maintain a standardized method for reporting compliance and savings in managed commodities
  • Create RFP’s to analyze possible savings and vendor consolidation in key purchasing categories
  • Implement and manage testing of new products and services at the business units
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors selected from RFP’s
  • Analyze spend across the company to identify possible new projects
  • Analyze existing inventories and ordering practices to create streamlined efficient ordering schedules
  • Complete and track payments for managed commodities
  • Create detailed reports and dashboards based on group requests
  • Create Capital Appropriation Requests and champion for approval
  • Manage enterprise-wide projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years sourcing experience
  • IT hardware, support and software sourcing experience or vendor management experience
  • Knowledge of accounting and reporting software (Oracle Cloud preferred)
  • Advanced Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point skills
  • Knowledge of MS Access and MS Project
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
