This role, based in Chicago, reports to the Manager of Applications and Systems. The Google G Suite Administrator's primary role will be overseeing and managing the implementation of G Suite instances as well other enterprise applications as they are deployed. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and vendor escalation as well as providing written documentation of new features and functionality.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are required to isolate problems, recommend solutions and implement solutions. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Some Challenges You’ll Tackle
- Own the administration and management of our Google domains
- Ability to take ownership of G Suite with the accountability to effectively manage and configure OU’s
- Experience with SaaS management tools (e.g. Bettercloud)
- Responsible for project implementation and support of all G Suite related technologies
- Engineer, test, install solutions to problems and defines areas for improvement as needed
- Be a technical point of contact when it comes to testing, planning and rolling out new features and updates
- Coordination of changes in conjunction with established change management policies
- Monitoring systems alerts, performance and utilization reporting
- Quickly responds to incidents and requests within a ticketing system, providing resolution within a complex, fast-paced business environment
- Be a technical point of contact when it comes to testing, planning and rolling out new features and updates
- Review current infrastructure and make recommendations for optimization
- Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to other teams and team members
You Should Have
- 2+ years of experience administering G Suite
- 2+ years as a System Administrator
- Ability to create shell scripts and leverage API’s (preferred)
- Proven experience in administering and maintaining the various application components, continued feature deployments to a large organization
- Strong understanding of security concepts for individuals and the application components, including e-discovery and DLP
- Knowledge of messaging infrastructure
- Deep technical knowledge of G Suite OUs and Active Directory
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an information technology technical support role
- Experience with end user support using a wide range of technology
- Experienced system administrator
- Strong written/verbal communications skills, and possess the ability to interface with end users effectively
- Google Apps Certified Administrator (optional)
- Ability to create shell scripts and leverage API’s (optional)
- Understanding of user life cycle management processes
