Information Technology Specialist

The Role

We are currently looking to hire an information technology specialist to join our corporate information technology team based out of our Chicago HQ.

The information technology specialist will provide a range of basic technical support work to enable to operational functioning of the business on a day to day basis. This will include responding to helpdesk requests for technical support, utilizing software aids and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting problems with network, hardware and software and then providing solutions for these problems.

The information technology specialist will also be responsible for the installation and configuration of hardware including printers, scanners and other peripherals. Finally, the information technology specialist will provide user support training including building out materials such as manuals, user guides across hardware and software (This will include software applications such as the Microsoft suite of products).

What You Will Definitely Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Student's currently enrolled with these programmes and looking for a part time role are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in information technology operations support or another IT related support area. This may include internships.
  • General knowledge of functioning and use of information systems and technology.
  • Ability to install and maintain hardware, software, and basic network components.

What We’d Love to See

  • General knowledge of IT equipment. Help desk management tools would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot simple operational and data communications problems.
  • Demonstrated technical problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
