You will work with Northern Trust's Public Cloud Enable team and business units to set cloud risk and control strategy for an outstanding organization. You will set the direction and the methods by which cloud risks are identified, assessed, categorized, prioritized and remediated. You will work closely with cloud architecture, engineering, product management, risk and compliance teams to design, establish controls and accelerate cloud adoption. You will manage and maintain the risk issues, present risks across information security, compliance, privacy, infrastructure and oversight functions.
You will report to the Head of Technology Control Advisory and be part of a dedicated and outstanding team that focuses on promoting control awareness and properly manage risks within the global information technology organization.
Responsibilities

  1. Provide advisory services to help set cloud risk and control strategy for Northern Trust's public cloud environment. Be a key member of day-to-day Cloud Enablement working groups representing the risk and control function.
  2. Formulate technology standards and control considerations. Develop policies, procedures and tools/automation for pro-actively identifying and managing risks and ensuring control compliance.
  3. Monitor compliance to technology control standards and maintain issue registers related to security, compliance, privacy, reliability risks by creating/leveraging data and smart automation strategies.
  4. Liaise with governance committees, working groups and control owners as a trusted risk and control advisor.
  5. Influence behaviors to reduce risk and foster a strong technology risk management culture throughout the enterprise.
  • Prior experience with cloud engineering best practices and knowledge of security controls in Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Good grasp of DevOps practices and control considerations.
  • Experience with infrastructure systems, security assessments, and security processes.
  • In-depth understanding and experiences of information security, risk assessments, security risk management principles.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, including experiences in executive management relationship.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Cloud architecture or security certifications preferred.


    • A Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
    • Data Analytics, scripting, continuous monitoring and control automation experience
