Job Description

Become an active member of a Systems Engineering team that loves to automate, secure, and learn about any technology it can get its hands on! We are a team of generalists with strong backgrounds and varying expertise across all parts of the stack. In this role you will help design, plan, implement and manage the core infrastructure technology that runs our raving application and software.

Fundamental Components

-Architect, Design and Implement new solutions to provide highly available and scalable environments to support the demands of today’s business growth.

-Monitor and support operational and performance statistics, using best in class Application Performance Management tools (AppDynamics, Splunk, ThousandEyes).

-Ensure servers and applications are compliant with established standards, policies, and configurations.

-Create and maintain technical documentation regarding design documents, operational drawings/guides.

-Serve as a primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of one or more of our Internet-facing services.

-Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations to facilitate our rapid iteration and constant growth.

-Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor custom applications in a Windows environment.

-Work closely with database and development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with "operability" in mind.

-Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment, while having fun with your co-workers.

-Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation with other team members for urgent incident response.

Background Experience

-A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent work experience and/or certificate program participation will be considered on an individual basis.

-5+ years of experience managing Windows environments

-2+ years of experience administering Linux environments

-2+ years of experience automating and administering cloud technology (Azure, VMWare, AWS)

-4+ years of experience setting up and managing Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server

-Strong Scripting skills

-Experience deploying and administering IaC Platforms: Puppet, Ansible, Octopus, Containers

-Experience managing crisis situations to resolution, and reporting on cause, action, results, and future mitigation plans

-Experience deploying applications to Microsoft IIS Server

-Experienced in configuring, hardening, troubleshooting, and administering Windows/Linux based applications and operating systems

 

-Exposure to the .NET programming language or debugging compiled .NET code a Plus
