JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Summary/Objective
The Technical Solutions Manager is responsible for managing the team of business analysts, developers and database specialists providing clients with contracted daily support and hosting/application management services. Individuals fulfilling this role must be skilled in one or more technologies, capable of managing business applications, and possesses conceptual knowledge of managing technologies overall.  The TSM is responsible for the development of the technology solutions and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure they are in line with the enterprise architecture.
 
The TSM is responsible for handling needs assessments and cost/benefit analysis to align the technology of the company with its business strategies. They receive business needs from management, solicit product and enhancement requirements from end users and must be able to convert the requests from both into a workable solution to present to technology staff. Occasionally, business systems analysts might work directly with clients, requiring good communication skills, as well as fundamental technical troubleshooting abilities. In lieu of a quality control department, business systems analysts might need to test software or coordinate a testing environment. They may need to work with project managers to implement a solution throughout a company.
 
This individual must have strong leadership skills and can influence and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
 
Job Responsibilities
-  Prepare, review, interpret and respond to detailed business requirements (BRS) to ensure alignment between Figo’s strategic expectations and current or future solutions capability.
-  Provide input to the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximize the return on technology investment.
-  Within the agreed enterprise architecture, define and design technology solutions to assist the business in meeting their business objectives.
-  Develop, test and implement technology solutions and report on delivery commitments to ensure solutions are implemented as expected and to agreed timeframes.
-  Acquire an intimate understanding of complex technical environments.
-  Manage weekly meetings with COO and business analysts to present status and results of initiatives.
-  Ensure best practices for support and problem management are adopted and practiced.
-  Identify opportunities for process improvement to address operational inefficiencies through the use of metrics and reporting.
-  Responsible for working with technology vendors to ensure contractual service-level agreements and for managing internal escalation.
-  Manage department reporting including performance and service metrics.
-  Set priorities and drive teams to deliver projects within defined timelines.
-  Manage department budget and support P&L.
-  Work closely with the sales and claims teams in establishing well-defined sales and service opportunities.
-  Develop team’s technical skills, communications mentoring and product knowledge.
 
Qualifications / Education
-  Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or another relevant university discipline.
-  Experience with enterprise software implementation, Software as a Service (SaaS), Web Applications implementation projects.
-  Experienced in analyzing and documenting business processes.
-  Demonstrated ability to bring clarity to business processes that may not be well understood by other internal or external    clients.
-  Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions for implementation or development.
-  Strong communications skills. Excellent verbal and written English skills are critical for success in this role.
-  Experience with formal structured project management methodologies.
-  Thrives in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated an ability to work calmly in a demanding work environment subject to a variety of pressures and constraints.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position manages vendors and internal business analysts and technical resources.
