The Team

The Product Management team is responsible for defining, delivering, and managing the lifecycle of the products in Arity's growing product portfolio. This job is responsible for making sure that we are building the right products and then defining the KPIs that act as leading indicators for success. Our purpose is to work collaboratively across teams at Arity to drive the most impactful work for the organization forward.

The Role

The Mobile Group Product Manager on the Insurance Solutions team is responsible for a team of product managers who set the strategic product vision, product discovery, roadmaps, and oversees mobile teams who manage backlogs to maximize the customer value provided by Arity's mobile app products. Group Product Managers do this by managing the strategic product portfolio vision and providing portfolio oversight related to execution to ensure that our platform teams are building the right solution(s), that everything comes together "just right" and that we are on track to achieve organizational objectives. They also accomplish this by actively coaching and mentoring product managers to ensure that they are thinking critically, gaining empathy for their users and growing in their roles. Because of this senior responsibility, Group Product Managers must be excellent coaches; proficient at orchestrating efforts across a portfolio; and experts at breaking down problems, identifying assumptions, and executing product discovery techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Create, drive and execute product strategy for a one or more products in Arity's insurance product portfolio.
  • Use customer feedback, detailed market analysis, and data gathering to make decisions about product strategy.
  • Use metrics to measure and inform the overall product strategy.
  • Invest significant time speaking with your current and potential customers to understand their needs & habits.
  • Engage in discovery/test & learn activities including A/B testing frameworks and behavioral science techniques to quickly validate assumptions and product direction.
  • Provide strategic direction to information effective management of product backlogs, create an effective vision and provide timely stakeholder feedback on mobile development.
  • Ensure the successful execution of development standards to ensure tight feedback loops and clear product definition.
  • Coach and mentor members of the team as well as members of the cross-functional development organization on how to collaborate and conduct idea generation, consumer research, test design and execution, measurement, product implementation, customer interactions and product roll out.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years relevant mobile app, product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action.
  • Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs where you had the accountability to determine the best course of action to meet your goals
  • Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a product team with proven experience in data-driven decision making
  • Clear passion for topics of mobile technology products and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate in our product space
  • Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities
  • Understanding of and experience working in an agile development environment
  • Experience in the insurance industry strongly desired including mobile telematics data collection for insurers as well as an understanding of the insurance marketplace, economic atmosphere, and regulatory environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate across multiple levels of leadership
  • Undergraduate degree in mathematics, finance, computer science, marketing or related business degree, MBA/MIS/MS desired
