Note: this job will eventually be on-site in Chicago, but in the meantime due to CV-19, it is remote.

Equilibria (“EQ”) is a high-growth, omni-channel premium CBD platform for women. We are dedicated to restoring balance to our community — physically and mentally — through our high-quality CBD products, personalized dosage support, and digital journey accompaniment. We are the ONLY CBD company with a dedicated team for 1:1 consults and education, and we are deeply mission-oriented. Thousands of women… and their sisters, mothers, grandmothers, and daughters … trust us to provide consistent, medical-grade products, month after month.
Corporate Headquarters: River North, Chicago; Bioscience + Farm Operations: Longmont, CO.

Summary

A Digital Product Manager is needed to manage (obsess!) over our e-commerce site/app, internal apps/tools, and automation within all of the above. The right candidate for us is self-driving, and fueled by problem-solving, feature development, timeline and roadmap planning, data-driven decision making, and post-launch analysis. This is a fast-paced environment in an industry (cannabis) zeitgeist, so thinking on your feet while being a team player is an absolute must. In 2019 we grew at least 50% month-over-month, and in 2020 our 20% goal MoM is aggressive but so far we’ve beat it every single month!  As a direct-to-consumer business with a heavy focus on subscription, ideal candidates will have experience with both e-commerce and subscription-related feature development, as well as the marketing needs that support this type of D2C strategy.

This position reports to and collaborates very closely with our Chief Product+Innovation Officer (CPIO) — who is also a co-founder and oversees all new (physical) product development in addition to digital product.  Given the close relationship of Product to Engineering and Business strategy, this role will collaborate very closely with our CEO and Head of Engineering as well.

If you’re looking to live and breathe in the technology and data that fuels every aspect of a business, and you love to watch your work produce tangible results, this is the right job for you. This position develops the “why” behind everything we produce, and is heavily involved in the day-to-day of our Product, Engineering, and Design teams. Our established EQ Framework will guide you on our thinking, but we are looking for someone who has strong opinions and wants to bring their tried-and-true methodologies for software to the table.  We are looking for someone who will obsess over our velocity and yield as much as they do our customers’ needs.

Compensation and title will be commensurate with experience. Equilibria will contribute toward medical insurance, for which we offer multiple options of coverage and premium. We also give every employee a monthly CBD allowance, along with other perks.

Responsibilities

  • Daily review of customer behavior and trends.
  • Gather requirements around problems to solve across every department, in addition to customer needs revealed through member feedback, user interviews, etc. Keep stakeholders in the loop!
  • Help department leaders advocate for their needs so that internal product is not lost amongst external, customer-facing development.
  • Get founding team buy-in for concepts that you develop on your own.
  • Structure and own a roadmap with clear problem statements (based on company OKRs + KPIs), initiatives, projects, and timelines. Write scopes to clearly explain the why/what for any concept. Propose prioritization of scopes and get approval from CPIO, CEO, HofE.
  • Regularly report on the status of projects, initiatives, and launches to the leadership team and company at large, both synchronously and asynchronously.
  • Work with production team leaders (engineering, design, content etc) to bring ideas from concept into reality, and coordinate a QA’d launch that matches your intended scope.
  • Analyze and post-mortem all projects to make sure we always learn from what we launch.
  • Push back with clear logic, when scope creep rears its head.
  • Collaborate with the design team on achieving best in class UX/UI that solves problems while remaining practical for a customer base that ranges from millennial to mature.
  • Participate in (and lead when CPIO unable due to co-founder responsibilities) specific stands/status/planning meetings across Product. Implement your own stands and 1:1s where needed.
  • The product (and larger production) team is small, so humility around project management handoff for deliverables is ideal.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in digital product management and/or ownership with a demonstrated track record of released software
  • E-commerce and/or relevant consumer digital product experience required
  • Strong understanding on engineering process and practices and able to communicate effectively to technical and business stakeholders
  • Great communication skills.  Ability to effectively advocate for the user, stakeholders, and the vision.  Handle conflict and contention with grace, clarity and strength.
  • Experience analyzing data around digital products, including customer acquisition and repeat funnels, in order to determine success.
  • Extremely organized and transparent with a knack for figuring out how best to effectively organize and report on progress.
  • Passion for women’s healthcare/wellbeing and Equilibria’s mission
  • Experience with Asana or a similar tool.
  • Positive attitude, even with deadlines looming
  • Patience for startup lifestyle
  • Deep appreciation for increasing efficiency.
  • Cross-functional experience a plus.
