Product Development Manager

The Product Development Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering software modules and components of varying size and complexity related to Java technologies. In this role, the Product Development Manager will collaborate and interface with Team Leads from different departments during all phases of the SDLC. The Product Development Manager will lead a team of developers in maintainining and supporting product features in the Production, Pre-Production, and Operations environments. This is an on-site position in our Naperville or Chicago office.

What You Will Deliver

• Manage and coordinate the product development activities.
• Act as a mentor for both new and senior developers by providing technical expertise and programming perspective for the team.
• Effectively communicate technical and non-technical concepts to the development team.
• Perform impact analyses of new features or changes to existing features within the Fieldglass application.
• Analyze and translate functional specifications, and change requests from approved business cases into technical specifications for development.
• Review coding and test plan to ensure we are providing a high quality product to the client.  
• Develop, test and implement program logic.
• Execute unit and system testing of the design once the solution has been developed, and work closely with other team members to successfully deploy the code to production.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and application through analysis, coding, writing clear documentation and problem resolution.
• Set an example by displaying an eagerness to learn new technologies and implement the technologies with minimal guidance.

What You Need to Bring

• Bachelor's degree in CIS, MIS, Mathematics, or related course of study
• 7+ years of development, testing, and deployment experience in a Java environment
• 3+ years of experience as a team lead or supervisor is preferred
• 5+ years of programming experience with web-based applications
• 3+ years of SQL coding experience
• Working knowledge of one or more of these technologies is required: Java, J2EE technologies, JSP, Struts, AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, and Microsoft SQL Server
• Familiarity with one or more of these technologies is a plus: SAPUI5/Fiori, SAP HANA and OData
• Ability to create detailed analysis and designs of minor components
