Operations Manager, Product Development at DO NOT USE - Narrative Science (Chicago, IL)
As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for optimizing operations across all product and engineering areas. You will promote visibility and alignment through effective communication, bring efficiency and results through continuous improvement and problem solving, and foster collaboration and teamwork. You will work alongside Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and executive stakeholders.

The Operations Manager role requires an exceptional leader and organizer -- you know how to lead from principle and respect-based influence rather than authority, you bring a great deal of wisdom, domain understanding and acumen.
Responsibilities:
Proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress.
Identify communication gaps, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities.
Drive results proactively.
Help manage the cross-functional strategic planning and business planning process, leading conversations with key stakeholders to develop concepts for strategic initiatives, and developing those into detailed program / project plans (including roadmaps, funding planning, resource planning and hiring goals).
Facilitates staff meetings, Agile ceremony meetings, and product / project post mortems.
Develop trusted relationships with stakeholders to drive focus on the strategic and operational program/product objectives that optimize product delivery.
Define and capture analytics for our products and team performance, analyze standard reports / dashboards that monitor the health of the key OKRs.
Ensure data is collected and utilized to appropriately inform decision making that proactively drive continuous improvement, mitigate risks and resolve issues
Utilize internal tools and iterative mindset to create a collaborative environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, mastery, innovation, and learning
Oversee and manage the Release Planning process of when functionality will be released to customers by aligning with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success
Support cohesion of Product and Engineering teams, fostering alignment on common goals across Business and Product Development and inspire a team of talented individuals towards a shared mission
Qualifications:
3+ years experience working in an agile product development environment closely with engineering and product teams
Strong operator. We need a leader who is great at creating structure, organization and process and getting everyone aligned within them. Strong prioritization, communication, and relationship building skills are critical.
A self-starter who can work proactively and independently to solve problems, overcome obstacles and execute. Things change fast in our world so you'll need to be highly adaptable, resilient and calm under pressure.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to articulate and manage key OKRs and use metrics to drive performance and provide data in support of key decisions
Understanding of all facets of SDLC (planning, requirements, development, testing, change management, and release management).
Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and Trello (or equivalent)
Bonus:
A Bachelor's and/or Master’s in a related field
Previous experience working in the management consulting industry
Experience with scaling Product Engineering organizations
