Chowly Product Manager

About The Position

We are looking for a Product Manager to be a key member of the product team, helping build our Point of Sale and third party ordering system integration platform from the ground up!

In your role, you will be developing a deep understanding of Chowly’s product and domain through direct interaction with the Chief Product Officer, users and partners.  You will cultivate a product roadmap with the team and find ways to validate priorities. You will be collaborating directly with engineers and designers to execute the product roadmap.  

About Chowly

Chowly’s mission is to simplify technology for restaurants. We believe that all systems should communicate with the “brain” of the restaurant, the Point-of-Sale System. Currently, Chowly integrates Third-Party Delivery Platforms (TOOS) to the POS system in the restaurant. Third-Party Delivery platforms such as UberEats, Doordash and many more, are growing at a rapid rate in the restaurant space with projected revenue totals of $73 billion dollars by 2020. Instead of restaurant employees manually entering delivery orders from several tablets around the POS, Chowly automatically integrates those orders into the POS system and confirms the orders with the delivery partners. Chowly, the market leader in the POS integration space, currently helps restaurants streamline the delivery process and simplify technology in over 200 cities across the US, Canada and Mexico.

As a Product Manager on the team, you will get to solve real world problems that affect all of us and in turn make a huge impact in the restaurant industry. You will help create and improve a platform curated for restaurants so that they can focus on creating food vs living in ‘tablet hell’. If you’re passionate about creating delightful cross platform (mobile & web), distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems through rapid product development & continuous deployment cycles that will utilize massive data ingestion & processing pipelines, we would love to talk to you.

About You in the Role

• Within 1 month, you will:

  • Complete Chowly’s Operations Training program.

  • Partner with the Chief Product Officer to set initial priorities and align on expectations for your role.

  • Start building relationships with engineers on the Chowly team.

• Within 3 months, you will:

  • Talk with customers and sales about current needs.  Start forming hypotheses about how our product can better fit our customers lives.

  • Lead day to date product execution for your team.  You will identify product goals, and write user stories.

  • Understand the engineering behind the Chowly product well enough that you can predict some product trade-offs and ask your team productive questions.

  • Help in firming up process for product planning.

  • Facilitate quarterly roadmap planning.

• From there, you will:

  • Build on you developing customer/industry expertise and take firm ownership of your teams product strategy.

  • Collaborate with our managers for cross team problem solving and feature delivery.

  • See high impact projects through from start to finish. You’ll assume ownership for your teams products.
