RoomIt is Carlson Wagonlit Travel's (CWT) newly created hotel distribution system. RoomIt provides travelers with the rooms, rate, amenities and loyalty programs they want, while helping organizations control their budget and improve travel oversight.

CWT is one of the largest travel management companies in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. The company employs approximately 18,000 people in nearly 150 countries and over 100 nationalities. We process 61 million booking transactions a year that generate $2 billion in new sales and maintain a client retention rate of 96%. Every day we look after enough travelers to fill almost 200 Boeing 747s and around 100,000 hotel rooms and handle 95 corporate events.

The Product Marketing Manager operates at the intersection of strategy, sales, supply, customers, technology and marketing teams. This individual brings a bold and innovative approach to create a differentiating hotel business travel offer. He/she will develop the strategic product roadmap, ensure deliveries meet the requirements and work with the marketing team to bring the offer to life across all audiences, both internal and external.

Responsibilities:

• The Product Marketing Manager is the subject matter expert for the designated portfolio and defines strategy and plan to increase product penetration and drive revenue
• Creates and maintains a collaborative relationship with the RoomIt Sales, Supply, Operations, Experience, Technology and Marketing teams to ensure that marketing and product solution strategies, plans and activities support the needs of the client base for assigned product portfolio
• Elevates RoomIt’s value proposition for customers, travellers and suppliers, leveraging B2C best practices combined with B2B approaches Product Marketing
• In collaboration with the strategy team and stakeholders, builds understanding of client needs, market/use trends and the user experience to establish product and service requirements
• Provides clear and frequent communications and feedback to the Product and Technology team; works with them to support release dates and iterate feature requirements in an agile development environment
• Works with hotel pricing, marketing and sales to develop and execute on a comprehensive marketing plan to drive profitable growth
• Is responsible for finding ways to differentiate the RoomIt hotel offer, ensuring we meet the needs of clients and travellers, and helping to build marketing collateral and training materials
• Using data along with market and competitive insights, owns and drives the future of your respective products
• You will position yourself as a leader by gathering information and prioritizing strategic business requirements
• Drives all dimensions of the marketing offer ranging from pricing, business case and client segmentation, to key promotional concepts and go-to-market approaches
• Presents positioning to stakeholders by thoroughly detailing and clearly differentiating specific value propositions
• In collaboration with the marketing services team, crafts the messaging and positioning of the hotel offer and functionalities, and develop marketing collateral and training materials
• Supports any other product marketing activity for RoomIt offer

 

Qualifications:

• MBA in related field
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in and product management, preferably in both B2B and B2C environment
• Based in Chicago
• Ability to adapt and work in a start-up environment as well as in large global company
• Technical savvy and understand the new digital landscape (mobile, web, big data)
• Flexible/Adaptable - able to quickly shift priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strategic: takes a planned and logical approach to selling, analysing and solving complex problems for the long term
• Experience in the travel industry highly preferred
• Collaborative: Ability to cooperate, inform and build relationships across teams and other RoomIt/CWT functions
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, other language a plus
• Ability to articulate technical information in a business related manner
• Ability to travel up to 25%
