Product Manager Job Details

As the Product/Sr. Product Manager at NCSA, you will be responsible for creating innovative and effective digital experiences for student-athletes and college coaches that help make the college recruiting process easier.  You will help define and execute the product roadmap alongside the product development and business teams.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user feedback and research with college coaches, athletes and their parents on an ongoing basis to clearly understand their needs and pain points
  • Vet out potential solutions and collaborate with design and development to rapidly conceptualize, prototype, and validate new product ideas and innovations
  • Lead a scrum team to drive product development by defining feature sets, developing and communicating product requirements
  • Facilitate communication with business owners, development team and product team
  • Identify project objectives, scope, goals, value and timeline of projects
  • Write and refine user stories
  • Create and manage product launch strategy
  • Coordinate and lead project retrospectives
  • Create documentation, process flows as needed
  • Manage and report on KPI’s globally and related to strategic efforts
  • Assist with support and bug management

  • You have strong knowledge of project management methodology, techniques and skills required to effectively manage scope, schedule, costs, communication, resources, quality and risk
  • You have excellent communication skills including written and verbal with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
  • You are able to effectively communicate trade-offs
  • You are a quick-learner
  • You truly enjoy talking to customers – both satisfied and unsatisfied to learn their pain points and needs
  • You are a motivated self-starter, don’t need to be told what to do
  • You don’t have to love sports, but you must be passionate about what we do which is helping athletes find the best college fit

 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
  • 3+ years in product management or related role
  • Experience with both mobile & web platforms
  • Experience in an agile or Kanban environment
  • Experience conducting user research
  • Experience with web optimization tools
  • Experience with big data, AI, machine learning a plus
