Provi has achieved product-market fit across the three tiers of the beverage industry with a simple premise: make beverage ordering easier for retailers, distributors and suppliers. With a new round of funding, we’re looking for an experienced product leader who can help us achieve our next level of product growth. Reporting to the VP of Product, you’ll collaborate on scaling the product team structure alongside an ever-expanding engineering team, building out product development processes, developing product strategy and growing the skill set of a high performing team of product managers.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Building the team: Lead, manage and grow a team of product managers at Provi with mentorship, coaching and skill-building as they build incredible experiences for retailers, distributors and suppliers. Empower, instruct and develop the next generation of product leadership at Provi. Hire incredible new product team members as the organization scales.
- Developing Strategy: Work closely with the VP of Product on product strategy across multiple product portfolios.
- Defining Process: Shore up product processes including team goal setting, roadmap development and planning and organizational communication in an ever-changing environment. Work with the VP of Product to further develop product career ladders and growth paths. Identify staffing and process gaps as the organization evolves.
- Collaborating: Work closely with our VP of engineering and Director of Design to maintain the tight collaborative culture that our product and engineering teams have built thus far.
- Keeping Users First: Build empathy and understanding throughout the organization for user needs and problems. Keep the user problem that you’re solving top of mind -- and ensure that the rest of the organization is as well. Intake user feedback -- both qualitative (user research studies, surveys, and focus groups) and quantitative (onboarding funnels, usage trends) -- to guide and inform product strategy and decision-making.
- Maintain excellent relationships with business stakeholders across marketing, sales and operations.
- Be adaptable and flexible. This is a fast-paced startup; the only constant is change.
- Be both a teacher and student to your product teammates and within the organization. Help the product team as a whole continue to improve. Help facilitate and maintain our team dynamic: open, encouraging, productive. Lead with empathy.
- Above all strive to make the Provi team, business and product great.
What we are looking for:
- At least 10 years of experience in product management with 5 years leading and growing teams. You have a track record of growing individuals in their careers and developing processes around strategy and roadmap development. Startup experience is strongly preferred.
- Deep experience and proven track record with marketplaces and commerce-related products (payments, advertising, merchandising and more) from user-facing experiences to the underlying APIs and algorithms that power them.
- Understanding of the alcohol beverage industry is a huge plus.
- Extensive track record of getting things done and done well with lots of examples of projects you've spearheaded.
- Analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making experience.
- Amazing written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the grit to turn uncertainty into action.
