Job Description for Technical Product Owner

We are looking for someone who is proficient with priority scheduling and making technical decisions. Your primary focus will be owning a technical product or platform. You will manage the day to day tasks for the development team and coordinating projects with the Business Product Owner. You will ensure that projects are estimated accurately and delivered on-time. You will coordinate meetings and run Agile ceremonies. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, project management, and quality product is important.

Responsibilities:

* The Technical Product Owner is the primary owner of the product and has the responsibility to think about the overall technical health of the solutions they own
* Create detailed project estimates and resource scheduling
* Manage sprint iterations and Agile ceremonies like stand up, storyboarding, retrospective, etc.
* Maintain and communicate weekly status updates
* Velocity tracking and managing predictability
* Plans and manages project introduction to development team
* Manage team backlog and prioritize items
* Originates requirements and priorities for improvements to the underlying technology of the product

Minimum

 

Requirements

* B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related technical degree (or a minimum 10 years of IT experience)
* Strong written and verbal communication
* Broad technical knowledge and experience with system data flows
* Understanding of software stack architecture
* Thorough understanding of Agile ceremonies and why they are important
* Experience with Jira, Rally, or other sprint tracking/ticketing system
* Effective conflict resolver
