RedEye is looking for an enthusiastic reporter to join its team! 

RedEye has a new mission: "Eat. Drink. Do,” devoted to covering Chicago’s eat and drink, music and cultural scenes for our 20- and 30-something readership. RedEye has a daily presence on the Chicago Tribune website, two newsletters a week, a Thursday print issue and a lively social media presence. We're a small, passionate team interested in helping Chicagoans live their best lives.

Our reporter will know the ins and outs of Chicago bars, restaurants, festivals and other attractions — and will hustle to learn more. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience at a newspaper or news/features website and strong digital media skills. Eagerness to explore Chicago is a must.

Requirements include top-notch reporting chops, a strong writing voice, speed and flexibility. This position covers a wide range of pursuits — a day might start with interviewing a local celebrity, move to reporting on the latest culinary trend and then wrap up by writing up a quick digital piece on new pop-up.
