This is Data Connect

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Connect team in Chicago. This team is part of Adyen’s Data Solution strategy to enhance our client’s understanding of their customers. We’re looking for trailblazers with an entrepreneurial mindset to innovate, tinker and craft something entirely new from the ground up. 

Within our team, you’ll tackle high-impact projects that all revolve around understanding our client’s customers. These include developing shopper recognition, attribution, and profiling products. You’ll work closely with engineering and product teammates to quickly iterate across every phase of the product life cycle, from evaluating product market fit to release. 

Senior Software Engineer

We are building products that have never been made before–using data and data artifacts as first-class citizens. We’re looking for a person that understands business context and is excited by data as a product. In this role, you will be critical in building our global data product suite that our customers use to grow their business.

What you’ll do

• You will work with data scientists and data analysts, taking their data pipelines and data science models and implementing them as holistic software products.
• You will build data products and tooling according to quality principles such as performance, code quality, data validation, data governance and discoverability.
• You will establish and spread best coding solutions across the Data Solution.
• You will partner with your product manager and engineering manager to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.
• You will lead projects to solve complex problems, leading architecture and system design discussions to set the best technical direction.
• You will develop linters and other tooling bespoke to Adyen to help ensure a high-quality pipeline codebase.

Who you are

• You have 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• You have experience coding in Java or Python.
• You have built software products based on data.
• You have partnered with data engineers or data scientists in the past, or have been one yourself.
• You have experience developing and deploying microservices.
• You have interest in data engineering / data science practices and product knowledge, specifically in how to leverage the power of analytics and data into business.
• You have a good understanding of software engineering best practices.
• You are able to communicate complex outcomes with clarity over a wide range of audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You have an experimental mindset with a launch fast and iterate mentality.
• A strong statistics/mathematics background is a plus.
