Mentoring and supporting other designers is important to you. You will join our growing Chicago office and be a part of a quickly growing team of Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute design leadership on strategic, large-scale client engagements
  • Identify opportunities for new workstreams and solutions within current engagements
  • Contribute to the growth of the Product Design practice:
    • Participate in the interview process and orientation of Product Design candidates/new hires
    • Coach, mentor, and train Product Designers on best practices
    • Contribute to design thought leadership through opportunities for continued learning, publishing articles and leading trainings
  • Drive results for all aspects of digital product design for our clients from leading product vision through ongoing production design
  • Solution design
    • Own and lead design strategy for your engagements incorporating timeline, budget, goals, delivery complexities and that enables you and the team to produce designs for delivery, following best asset creation and management practices
    • Identify areas of meaningful measurement on your design engagements supported by research efforts you will lead
  • Production design
    • Collaborate with globally distributed team members during agile sprint ceremonies to determine immediate and future design scope and delivery
    • Ensure technical feasibility and quality of your designs for engineering hand off, and alleviate design blockers with engineers throughout your project’s iterative sprint cadence
    • Lead design reviews with client stakeholders
  • Consulting
    • Run requirements gathering workshops with strategic clients
    • Advise clients on product direction and work directly with delivery teams on technical options
    • Assemble end-to-end design strategy plans including timing, activities, and business outputs

Requirements

  • 5+ years or equivalent of product design experience
  • Ability to translate a client’s potentially ambiguous vision all the way through into detailed, technically sound product design
  • Ability to tailor communication and set expectations effectively to multiple audiences
  • Strong product design background with mastery of methodology, tools (i.e., Sketch, Figma), and techniques needed to drive business and human value
  • Experience designing end-to-end custom software solutions in a technology consulting environment
  • Lean requirements gathering and story mapping experience
  • Ability to pick up technical and business concepts quickly
  • Strong communication skills: visual, written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving experience for complex business challenges
  • Ability to lead by influence
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and other company office locations as deemed necessary

      This position is based in Chicago, IL. We have a hybrid working model requiring 3 days per week in the office and allowing for 2 days per week remote. This position requires travel to client sites and other company office locations as determined by project need.
