DRW is a diversified trading firm with over 3 decades of experience bringing sophisticated technology and exceptional people together to operate in markets around the world. We value autonomy and the ability to quickly pivot to capture opportunities, so we operate using our own capital and trading at our own risk.

Headquartered in Chicago with offices throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, we trade a variety of asset classes including Fixed Income, ETFs, Equities, FX, Commodities and Energy across all major global markets. We have also leveraged our expertise and technology to expand into three non-traditional strategies: real estate, venture capital and cryptoassets.

We operate with respect, curiosity and open minds. The people who thrive here share our belief that it’s not just what we do that matters–it's how we do it. DRW is a place of high expectations, integrity, innovation and a willingness to challenge consensus.

We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Strategist to join our team of professionals working to share DRW’s brand across a diverse set of stakeholders. This role is based in our Chicago office and reports into our Director of Marketing.  It will offer a broad view into all aspects of our team (external, internal, marketing, research, social media and CSR), with a focus on media relations, conference support and marketing activities.  The right candidate will have a passion for top-tier and trade media, get excited about the idea of putting pen to paper, pride themselves on details and be energized by a job that challenges you to take complicated financial market topics and create compelling content.  Our marketing and communications team ethos is one of excellence, delivered in a style that is collaborative, connected to business objectives and always curious.  As we say, we take our work seriously, ourselves less so.

Key Responsibilities:
•Serve as a first point of contact for top-tier and trade media, including vetting requests, making initial recommendations internally and managing the overall process

•Aid in amplifying the voice of the DRW executive team through strategic thought leadership, including managing conference engagements, preparing key talking points and coordinating logistics with the executive assistant team

•Generate and execute ideas to reach key external audiences through a mix of earned, paid and owned channels

•Work alongside public affairs and market structure team (including relevant trade associations) to refine messaging, contribute strategic communication insights and craft thought leadership initiatives

•Collaborate with the internal communications team to align external campaigns with internal messaging for cohesive company-wide narratives

•Oversee the production and maintenance of communication materials such as executive bios, photo libraries, messaging frameworks, fact sheets, and other branding tools

Required Skills & Experience
•2-5 years of experience, with extra credit given to those with agency experience and/or prior work in finance or fintech

•Demonstrated success in engaging with leading and trade media, with a knack for nurturing relationships and influencing narratives in a high-energy setting (no existing media relationships required)

•Exceptional writing skills, including ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, concise content

•Robust curiosity and eagerness to integrate into our team as a dependable contributor

•Creative mindset with an aspiration to refine design skills (familiarity with Adobe Suite, Premiere Pro and Canva preferred)

•Proficiency in leveraging social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to assist in disseminating relevant content and collaborating on new content ideas

•Exceptional project management skills and an eye for the details
