Nearly 200 Chicago companies were featured on this year’s Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing, privately-owned companies.

Inc. released its 2022 Inc. 5000 list on Tuesday showcasing the fastest-growing, privately owned companies in the country. Illinois and Chicago were both well represented on the list, with several tech companies ranking in the top 100. 

Rankings were calculated by analyzing revenue growth between 2018 and 2021.  

In total, 217 Illinois companies were featured on the list, of which 199 were located in Chicago. Companies ranged in industries from software to logistics to fintech. Together these companies represent the innovation and strength of the Chicago tech hub.

Headquartered in the Old Chicago Post Office Building, CoinFlip owns and operates a large network of ATMs where people can buy or trade cryptocurrencies. The company hopes that with its kiosks it can get more people into the crypto market. According to Inc., CoinFlip’s revenue increased by 4,580 percent over the last three years. The company is currently hiring on Built In. This is CoinFlip’s second time featuring on the Inc. 5000 list.

Threekit develops AR technology for retail brands that allows them to showcase their products in 2D, 3D and AR renderings. The tech allows customers to visualize the product in their homes without having to purchase it or see it in stores. This is the company’s second time appearing on the list and it grew 5,150 percent since 2018. Back in November, Threekit closed a $35 million Series B round that it used to add e-commerce integrations onto its platform.

Founded in 2016, TheMathCompany provides consulting services to Fortune 500 companies. Its services focus on data analytics and help companies enhance their analytics capabilities. The company is based in Chicago and grew its revenue by 5,245 percent between 2018 and 2021, according to Inc.

According to the company, its technology gives full visibility to everyone in the shipping process and also has messaging capabilities on its platform to eliminate the need for email or spreadsheets. Ranked no. 12 among all companies on this year’s list, TransLoop witnessed a 20,267 percent increase of its revenue over the past three years.

Topping the list for the highest growing company in the Chicago area is CDL1000. The all-in-one logistics company provides brokerage services, real-time tracking solutions, fright quotes and load signup boards, among other services. The company witnessed a 56,135 percent increase in its revenue between 2018 and 2021.
