The Account Manager uses SPINS industry leading Natural, Organic, and Specialty Products Market Research and robust consumer information to uncover insights in the data and serve as thought leaders in the industry. This high visibility, high impact part of our business builds and shapes the development of customer solutions for one of the fastest growing industries in today’s market.

The role of the Account Manager must assimilate within the client organization and collaborate to ensure partnership goals are met. This includes manufacturer endorsement, retailer recruiting and efficiency improvements. As a recognized Subject Matter Expert, the Account Manager develops strategic and tactical business initiatives for leading manufacturers and retailers in the Natural, Organic and Specialty Products Industry. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in support of strategic client business initiatives (Client Development, Category Management, and Promotional Analysis) including coordination of resources from the broader SPINS team (Content Development team, Brand Growth Solutions, SPINS Ventures, Information Technology, and Operations)
  • Provide client support with routine and custom category analytics, consumer insights, fact-based recommendations, data pulls and trended analysis in support of client projects
  • Manage selected analysis and consulting activities to meet sales and client targets for both the strategic partner and SPINS
  • Manage and oversee successful execution of database management functions (refreshes, restatements, data inquiries and routine/repetitive reporting)
  • Serve as a Natural and Specialty Products Industry consultant and thought leader to the client’s management team, while also building strong relationships and demonstrating measurable ROI for SPINS products and services
  • Directly support C-Level Executives, manufacturers, and retailers with industry level analysis in preparation for effective communication and reports to the trade 
  • Collaboration with the Brand & Sales Management teams to develop standardized needs and requirements to the manufacturer trade and drive revenue and efficiency gains
  • Conduct training on SPINS solutions and coordinate ongoing training and communication of solutions enhancements across client organization
  • Train and monitor to ensure proper data usage and dissemination within the client organization
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and project management skills to coordinate multiple levels of insights and support
  • Utilize the full suite of SPINS solutions and technology partner products/services to meet the client’s business needs
  • Seek opportunities overall to add value to client partner and SPINS services and consultant expertise to further build credibility of both organizations in the marketplace
  • Maintain deep knowledge of Natural, Organic and Specialty Industry trends, initiatives, innovations and events

Experience and Skills:
  • BS/BA Degree
  • 3+ years of experience with a Retailer, Distributor, Broker or Manufacturer
  • 3+ years of experience in account/relationship management and/or partner development
  • 3+ years of experience in data systems integration and process management
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing retailer/consumer data resulting in actionable insights
  • Solid proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to train and educate others with superior writing and presentation skills
  • Effective at delivering presentations to small and medium sized groups in multiple formats
  • Proven track record achieving measurable business results
  • Demonstrated success in Category Management and Syndicated Data (scanner and panel) analysis using SPINS, The Nielsen Co., IRI or similar data
