Accountant
Sprout Social is looking for a dynamic accounting professional to join our small-but-mighty Finance Team. Your work impacts every customer and every employee as you look at cashflow in and out of the organization. You help power the financial operations of a software that is used by more than 17,000 brands around the world. Companies like Trello, Zendesk, Google, Fender and Evernote rely on Sprout to create stronger relationships with their customers through social media.
You work fast (but smart) and can learn on the fly. You are good with numbers, Excel, and understand the general logic behind how a business runs financially. You also hunt for efficiencies so that your life and the lives of others are constantly made easier. You will be joining the Finance team at Sprout, which is a scrappy team that takes great care of our internal and external stakeholders. If you are up for the challenge, we’d love to talk with you.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate month end close and create monthly financial reports
- Prepare account reconciliations for various general ledger accounts
- Maintain our fixed asset ledger and prepaid schedules, reconcile credit card activity and payables
- Responsible for posting and processing journal entries, ensuring that transactions are accurately and appropriately recorded
- Assist in collections from past due customers and record payments
- Assist in quarterly tax preparations and filing
- Contribute to developing solutions to improve and make our processes scalable
- Commitment to professional growth and maintaining high standards
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience
- 0-2 years of relevant professional accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and report building tools and analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Crazy attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid interpersonal and listening skills; ability to establish rapport and credibility quickly with our immediate team and external stakeholders
- Strong written communication and organizational skills
- Sensitivity in handling confidential information with great discretion
- Ability to work and succeed in both individual and team settings with a focus on efficiency in both realms
- Nimble and quick to adapt to changes in deadlines and ready to assist in other finance activities and ad hoc projects
