We are seeking a Big Data DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team at Akuna Capital. As a trading company, Akuna collects, processes, and manages critical large-scale data sets of financial market and trading data collected in real time. This job is responsible for developing and managing production processes and tools in support of data collection, management, and analysis.

What you’ll do as a DevOps Engineer:

• Select and implement tools around data:
  
  • Collection
  • Monitoring and support of production systems
  • Deployment of data infrastructure
• Implement new tools and processes on Linux using scripting languages such as Bash and Python
• Build continuous integration and automated deployment processes
• Solve complex problems and troubleshoot issues
• Be the primary point of contact for data production issues
• Provide in-office technical support for bulk data pipeline

Qualities that make great candidates:

• Bachelors or Associates degree in Information Systems, Systems, Computer Science or similar field preferred, or related experience 
• Proficiency in Linux and Linux administration
• Demonstrated proficiency and enthusiasm for scripting
• Capable of adopting new technologies quickly
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to make sound decisions in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
• Must graduate by January 2017, we are not accepting May 2017 graduates (or later)
