We are looking for a dynamic Billing Specialist to join our small but mighty Finance Team to support our growing company. Sprout’s Finance Team works in numbers while living and breathing the Sprout brand. Doing our jobs effectively means we approach each interaction with confidence, each process with diligence, and our customers with care. This role will also partner closely with Sprout’s Sales and Support Team. We are looking for our next all knowing Billing guru who isn’t just about getting thing done but can scale and enhance our existing processes.

As Sprout Social is a leader in our industry, the billing support this role provides is critical to customer success. Companies like Google, UPS, Trello, Hyatt and Zendesk among 17,000 others rely on Sprout to create stronger relationships with their customers through social media.

Responsibilities

• Create and update customer invoices and billing records
• Serve as the proration calculation expert
• Complete vendor setup forms for electronic payments and provide relevant vendor information as needed
• Troubleshoot payment processing issues, process refunds/credits and support various operational needs
• Assist with collections from past due customers and track payments received
• Prepare monthly analysis on invoicing and collection activity, as well as other financial reports
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Support teams to research and resolve account issues, establish action steps and develop best practices
• Contribute to Customer Support goals by improving response and resolution times, as well as customer satisfaction ratings
• Assist in developing solutions to improve and make all billing related processes streamlined and scalable

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (Business related field preferred) or 5-8 years of work relevant billing and/or accounting experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid foundational knowledge of billing function’s impact on accounting and financial statements
• Resourceful with impressive analytical, critical thinking and organizational skills
• An efficient multi-tasker that can work independently while always being team focused and stay organized
• Strong work ethic and desire to help people
• Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, able to use tools to build reports and perform analysis efficiently
• Crazy attention to detail and accuracy
• Solid interpersonal and listening skills; ability to establish rapport and credibility quickly with our immediate and external team
• Sensitivity in handling confidential information with discretion
• Nimble and quick to adapt to changes in deadlines and ready to assist in other finance activities and ad hoc projects
