What You'll Do:

The Corporate Development & Strategy Associate will be responsible for helping introduce Uptake’s predictive analytics platform to new industry verticals, formulating our value proposition tailored to specific segments and target customers, supporting Uptake in executing acquisitions and partnerships worldwide, and working with various functional teams to ensure that strategic objectives are achieved. This person should be able to support multiple projects simultaneously, be highly self-motivated, and enjoy solving really hard problems. This is a highly visible role and critical to our success, with the opportunity to grow rapidly and gain senior executive exposure across a variety of industries. The position will initially require work across a variety of industries, but candidates may have the opportunity to specialize in a vertical. 

Responsibilities:

• Perform research on multiple industries, identify industry trends, outline competitive landscape(s), and synthesize offerings
• Develop predictive analytics business cases for Uptake and Uptake’s customers
• Engage with clients and potential customers to understand needs, challenges, and opportunities
• Help the business development team identify, qualify, and pursue prospects
• Build complex models/presentations and deliver ideas and proposals to management to drive decisions regarding opportunities
• Support the executive team on all aspects of deal execution and integration activities (this includes research, analysis, and deal execution activities)
• Create a variety of financial models, including ROI and target company Profit & Loss
• Take on special projects on an as-needed basis

  Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top university and 3+ years relevant work experience in management consulting, venture capital, private equity, technology-focused corporate development/strategy, or technology-focused investment bank
  • Experience in software, Internet, or analytics industries
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability, along with excellent business judgment
  • Experience doing industry research, competitive landscaping/comparisons, value chain analyses, modeling, and presentations
  • Experience interacting with senior audiences and executives
  • Strong project management skills, including a proven ability to think through all aspects of the process, manage long-term projects, and multi-task
  • Familiarity with concepts and technologies behind Big Data analytics, predictive analytics, and predictive maintenance
  • Able to work under minimal or no supervision
  • Superb interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships successfully across teams
