 The UI LABS Business Development Manager (BDM) is the frontline business development contact for UI LABS industry partners. 

The BDM is responsible for planning, innovating and executing programs to drive our fast growing UI LABS partnership community. He/she will set and build the industry recruitment strategy for UI LABS two programs City Digital and Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute (DMDII).  She/he will research companies and work across our program teams to determine the value proposition and fit for prospective partners. This is a highly visible and strategic role as the membership network is critical to the ongoing success of UI LABS.  Strategic expansion of the UI LABS communities and diversifying the ways we engage with them is a planned driver for the company.

We seek a highly qualified individual who can take an analytically-driven approach to expanding our membership of 300+ industry partners.  

In this position you will oversee the day to day research, value proposition creation and execution of business development and serve as a thought leader in developing programs to expand & diversify our membership.  This position will work directly with our Strategy and Client Success and Engagement leaders under the direction of Director of Membership and Engagement.

+ Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Value Proposition Creation
    • o   Partner with Strategy and Program Operations to identify key market verticals
    • o   Develop compelling go to market value propositions for verticals and specific target companies
    • o   Build collateral pitch materials
  • Member Recruitment:
    • o   Create and implement the tactical recruitment plans for new partners
    • o   Develop and implement integrated recruitment campaigns
    • o   Work with target companies to develop value cases
  • Sales Operations
    • o   Manage leads, prospects and opportunities in the business development pipeline
    • o   Create Proposals for new and existing opportunities are produced, presented, and documented
    • o   Track and communicate metrics
    • o   Share partner feedback on value with project operations teams
  • Partner with Strategy, Member Engagement, and technology teams to develop value propositions and materials
  • Work with membership engagement to seamlessly transition leads to new members
  • Plan and lead membership recruiting events
  • Represent UI LABS at conferences or community events

+ Position Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a top tier consulting firm in an associate or other consulting role
  • Successful track record in business development (preferably for services business) in advanced technology or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in industries with complex products and/or business models
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on tight timeline
  • Strong communication skills -  written, verbal and presentation
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work across teams, collaborate and manage multiple projects is required
  • Travel expectations will be approximately 25%
