THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking talented, motivated individuals who are looking to establish a career in sales. Our B2B inside business development representatives (BRDs)s are responsible for much of the diagnostic customer profile work that is the critical initial part of the sales process. With our diversified range of web based solutions, proper customer diagnostics are critical to navigate the customer to the best solution.
Our solutions solve real world business problems for our customers; allowing them to comply with regulations that are historically mundane and heavily paper-based. As a VelocityEHS BDR you will take a consultative selling approach to understanding the customer’s needs, profiling and qualifying them to finally guide them to the appropriate VelocityEHS solution. The ideal candidate will possess intellect, enthusiasm, great people skills, innate curiosity, a willingness to learn and an ability to articulate a value proposition.
We understand the hidden potential of entry level people who are looking for a chance to prove themselves. We use a team approach, combined with one-on-one education to bring out the best in people. A technical sales background is not a prerequisite; we will train the right person.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
· Meeting and exceeding individual goals of activity and results
· Prospecting and calling leads to conduct initial customer profiling and diagnostics over phone.
· Learn our entire product offering to navigate customers to the appropriate solution.
· Capture all relevant customer information and diagnostic needs assessment into our CRM (SalesForce)
· Set up demonstrations of these prospective customers with the appropriate solution.
· Becoming a subject matter expert by acquiring ongoing marketplace intelligence by researching trends and best practices, reading business publications, seeking out learning and development opportunities and utilizing internal training resources
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Basic Skills & Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or 1-3 years relevant work experience
· Experience maintaining a high level of activity while managing multiple competing priorities
· Experience working effectively and accurately in a results-driven, fast paced environment
· Professional communication style; written, verbal, non-verbal
· Demonstrated ability to make rational and effective decisions
· Strong orientation for details and accuracy
· Strong ability to initiate and establish meaningful business relationships over the phone
· Able to work independently with minimal supervision; also can be an effective team member
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the internet
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
· Experience with technology and Internet deployed services
· Proficiency in use of Salesforce.com
· Bachelor’s degree in business related field; Professional Selling degree or Sales Certification preferred
· Collegiate level sales experience; sales related courses, participation in selling competitions, sales related clubs/associations, etc.
· Experience with new business development
· Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
