Computational Biologists- Pharmacogenomics
We are seeking a highly motivated and capable individual with extensive experience in biomedical informations, pharmacogenetics, translational cancer research, and biomarker development. This position requires a deep understanding of clinical endpoints related to drug response, tumor biology, pathology, and the progression of cancer as well as a high level of proficiency in scientific programming. Top candidates will also have experience translating research findings into clinically relevant and actionable information.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement computational algorithms to provide clinical insight through rigorous analysis determining molecular biology within the practice of pathological diagnosis and oncological interventions. These involve analyses of clinical efficacy, adverse drug events, and drug-drug interactions in a precision medicine context using clinical outcomes and sequencing data.
2. Translate insight from clinical outcomes like survival to molecular outcomes like altered expression profiles. Translate molecular profiles of in vivo and in vitro model systems into predictors and classifiers of clinical outcomes like therapeutic response and prognosis in clinical cancer care.
3. Collaborate with bioinformaticians, scientists, and clinicians to design and perform analyses and model tumor biology.
3. Work in interdisciplinary groups of scientists, engineers, and product developers to translate research into clinically actionable insights for our clients.
4. Manage and contribute to building the Tempus knowledge databases.
5. Produce high quality and detailed documentation for all projects.
Required Experience:
- Must have completed a Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics, Pharmacology, Medical or Cellular Physiology
- Computational skills using R, Bioconductor, and/or Python.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Experience in genomic medicine, deep phenotyping, clinical data mining, adverse drug events, drug-drug interactions, clinical data mining, network medicine, systems pharmacology, drug repurposing, integrating genetic and clinical data
- Experience working with next-generation sequencing data
- Self-driven and works well in interdisciplinary teams
- Experience with communicating insights and presenting concepts to a diverse audience
- Demonstrated ability to conceive, implement, and evaluate research projects for complex biological problems
