SilkRoad is seeking a talented DBA with deep technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and related tools, data technology best practices and operational experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Provides DBA support for multiple SQL Server clusters across SilkRoad services and customers.
- Manages jobs, tools, and procedures used for database backup, security, and performance analysis.
- Designs and implements security models to support both local and international requirements.
- Designs and implements automated routines to facilitate the operational management of the database servers.
- Works with agile teams to proactively identify and address performance and operational improvements.
- Manages and maintains the backup and disaster recovery processes for SQL Server.
- Contributes and assists with application transition to IaaS and PaaS models (Azure).
- Assesses and implements newer data technologies, where warranted (e.g. Azure Data Lake, NoSQL).
- Performs proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of database issues.
- Experience with ETL to support analytics projects.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and internals.
- Ability to solve complex systems and database environment issues.
- Collaborative, innovative thinker that works well in both a team and solo environment.
- Development experience across full application life cycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience administering SQL Server in a 24x7 production environment with a minimum of 3 years of experience in professional software design and development.
