Akuna Capital is looking for an experienced Developer to join our growing development team and enhance our risk monitoring systems! This system is responsible for live monitoring of all our trading activities and basic risk views, as well as handling end of day reconciliation with our clearing house. This is a foundational piece of our infrastructure and the right applicant will bring an interest in writing clean and maintainable code, building large complex systems, and database development.

This person will work closely with our Head of Risk, Quants, Developers, and Traders and will be responsible for delivering highly performant intraday and end of day risk reporting for all desks to manage their portfolio. This is a brand-new and exciting opportunity for anyone that is looking to have ownership over, and be responsible for, bringing new projects to life.

What you’ll do as a Developer at Akuna:

• Data retrieval, processing, validation and modeling
• Work with various data sources/ inputs using Python
• Experience of the full software development life cycle (requirements analysis, design, development, unit testing, execute and deployment, and post implementation support)
• Owning the risk reporting framework
• Work alongside our risk and compliance teams
• Respond to regulator and exchange inquiries
• Work with traders and trading platform developers on risk work

Qualities that make great candidates:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent
• 5+ years of strong experience with developing risk applications in Python or C++ and SQL
• Experience working with large datasets a plus
• Must have strong writing and verbal communication skills and must be able to work in an agile development environment
• Proven ability to communicate with less technical users to understand requirements and implement appropriate solutions
