The Director of Booking - will be a key member of the executive team that leads our $2B+ North American Local business.

Specifically, this individual will be responsible for the design and delivery of all major strategies for the newly-formed Booking initiative. This will span spearheading annual operational planning, designing the 3-5 year strategic vision, creating quarterly roadmaps, and ensuring all strategies are implemented successfully and on time. This business leader will also be responsible for scaling our booking services to our $800M Beauty & Spa business, and other relevant businesses at Groupon. This role directly manages booking and operational teams, but also requires influencing cross-functional teams (marketing, product, revenue management, etc.) to deliver growth.

The position is well suited to a candidate in management consulting, marketing or product management, who is looking to make a direct business impact by scaling this new initiative across our company. They will be involved in every stage of the solution from ideation through implementation, and scaling nationally.  

This role reports to the VP and GM for Health, Beauty and Wellness for North America.

Description:

You will lead the North American Booking business, including the following:

  • Be accountable for scaling our Booking business across our North American operation,  which requires managing both your direct team and leading cross-functional teams including technology, marketing, merchandising, and sales
  • Develop the Booking partnership strategy for 2018 
  • Execute the Booking business strategy that includes supply, partnerships, product, and go-to-market in all of Groupon’s North American markets
  • Ensure successful implementation of new Booking initiatives, including new product design and market fit, go-to-market, business development partnerships, and other initiatives to drive P&L growth of Booking
  • Partner with Product and Marketing to deliver successful go-to-market plans for our BeautyNow product and any other new Booking initiatives

You are:

  • A broad operator with experience in multiple areas of P&L growth
  • An innovator, personally excited about bringing new products to market, and scaling them fast
  • Someone with demonstrated confidence to challenge the status quo in an ever-evolving business
  • Deeply data driven, living by metrics and taking appropriate (and swift) action from data
  • A leader with a bias for action, getting things done quickly and thoughtfully
  • Comfortable with building solutions by influencing and collaborating with teams across the company

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years professional experience. The ideal candidate will have been a product and/or marketing leader in an online/eCommerce consumer-facing company.  Great customer focused intuition. 
  • Experience in beauty/wellness space a plus, but not required
  • MBA (or other advanced degree) preferred, but not required
  • Proven analytic and problem solving skills to influence executives across multiple functions
  • Demonstrated management of a P&L
