MAIN COURSE (Job Responsibilities):
  • Within an agile and team based marketing environment, executes layout and design of marketing and communication materials that support The Pampered Chef marketing strategies, brand guidelines and corporate objectives, including both consumer and consultant oriented projects.
  • Manage and lead large creative strategies, including providing and collaborating with team to provide art and photo direction and consultation. Creates templates and grids for layouts and ensures their proper usage.
  • Considered an expert in best practices within design. Trains and on-boards less experienced designers.
  • Determines proper level of quality for projects
  • Manages graphic elements of design projects from concept to completion
  • Collaborates with all team members to ensure copy and design are in sync and align with overall branding guidelines.
  • Partners with the team members to provide project status and ensure campaigns are delivered on-time and meet business objectives.
  • Builds and populates layouts for marketing and communication materials, including, but not limited to catalogs, newsletters, promotional materials, sales flyers, brochures, forms and use & cares and packaging.
  • Creates logos and product illustrations.
  • Receives and implements feedback, making any necessary design corrections
  • Complete design release checklist, prepare electronic files and physical mockup for release of jobs to printers for prepress/printing and files to web for deployment. Consists of approximately 3500+ jobs on an annual basis. 
  • Add fillable fields to web pdfs for Consultant customization and add metadata to support SEO to all pdfs in all markets. Supports production of e-catalogs.
  • Build electronic files for new jobs.
  • Complete edits in electronic files from proof reviews.
  • Prepares file and generates proofs for next review stage, including uploads to web-based proofing system.
  • Seeks opportunities to reduce design and production costs by avoiding expenses accrued from costly additional photography charges, printing fees, or press delays by ensuring all jobs are completed accurately.
  • Must be a voice of the user, always advocating for the best user experience while understanding the business process.
  • Works with other designated team in production of creative campaigns: copywriters, designers, production, web development, marketing managers.
KEY INGREDIENTS (Position Requirements):
  • Associates degree in Graphic Design (or related field) + 5+ years experience in a design environment, or BA + 4+ years experience required.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) required.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
  • Practical experience in print and digital design required
  • Experience and understanding of pre-press and print processes required.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team required.
  • Ability to produce high quality design content under tight deadline conditions required.
  • Ability to work independently required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Flexibility, versatility, and collaboration required.
  • Strong verbal and written grammatical skills required.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, changing, with diverse thought leadership.
  • Strong experience training, mentoring, and coaching junior designers.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot to reach a feasible solution.
  • Must have an eye for detail.
  • Strives to stay current in level of knowledge and abilities.
  • Illustration & photography skills a plus.
  • Project management skills a plus.
  • Practical experience in development of HTML, JavaScript, CSS a plus.
