SpringCM is looking for a Human Resources Assistant for our Corporate Headquarters in Chicago, IL. As the Human Resources Assistant, you will report directly to the HR Manager, and have the primary responsibility of assisting with recruiting and staffing, new employee on-boarding, employee record keeping and benefit administration.

An ideal candidate for the human resources assistant position must display patience and strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years administrative/recruiting experience with an interest in expanding in the human resources field as a generalist. Familiarity with the tech industry is also an advantage. For this role, you should be able to work autonomously, assist in more complex HR duties and work with all levels of management and employees efficiently and positively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruiting and staffing efforts from job posting, screening, interview scheduling, etc.
  • Administer the employee benefits program and assists with annual employee benefits open enrollment process
  • Assist in training activities
  • Manage STD and LTD claims as well as FMLA compliance
  • Audit benefit invoices and pre-payroll to ensure proper employee deductions
  • Subject matter expert for all organizations benefits
  • Serve as first point of contact for employees on HR policies and procedures
  • Assisting and maintaining the HR policies and procedures as well as annual training
  • Responsible for maintaining ACA compliance of internal employees
  • Process, verify and maintain personnel documentation
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of recruiting experience or administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and professional demeanor: must display patience, humor and helpfulness at all times
  • Detail oriented and excellent time management and organizational skills: accuracy is essential
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, especially calendar management within Microsoft Outlook) required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interviewing and assessment skills, presentation skills.
  • Ability to successfully perform in a high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and to meet deadlines
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude that offers contributing ideas to help better the team
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems as well as HRIS a plus
