We’re seeking an experienced, energetic HR Benefits Manager to manage GrubHub’s employee benefits programs. The People Team at GrubHub is small, solutions-oriented, resourceful and passionate about shaping an innovative and diner-obsessed culture in a high growth, operationally focused tech environment. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in a senior benefits administration or benefits management role with exposure to health and welfare benefits and plan design in a fast growing environment.
In this role, you’ll:
- Lead the day-to-day management and administration of GrubHub's health and welfare benefit programs: interact with employees, GrubHub senior leaders, benefits consultants and our providers
- Provide strategic direction on plan design, lead annual renewal process
- Act as trusted resource for employees seeking information regarding their benefits, benefits enrollment, leaves of absence and stock equity
- Manage leave of absence administration for FMLA, disability and worker’s compensation, partner with HR Business Partners to ensure appropriate communication between the employee, the provider and the business
- Participate in and lead HR/People Team projects as needed including, but not limited to, annual benefits renewal and open enrollment, projects related to M&A activity, benefits plan audits and compliance
- Partner with GrubHub’s Culture Club on wellness activities and initiatives
- Lead employee onboarding initiatives to ensure compliance with all required policies and legal requirements
- Provide guidance and support to the People Team on benefits compliance topics such as plan notifications, current legislation and current HR practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (major or coursework in HR preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of benefits administration experience in a high growth environment
- Experienced with the nuts and bolts of employee benefits, payroll, legal compliance (FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, ERISA)
- Strong critical thinking/analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
- Sense of urgency and a bias to action
- Self-motivated & strategic – hungry to continuously improve
- Confident in handling ambiguity, have an abundance of common sense and a sense of pragmatism
- Tech savvy – experience with SaaS HRIS and payroll systems, carrier EDI feed, strong Excel skills and comfortable learning new systems quickly
