We are looking for an HR Director to support a number of key business functions at our headquarters in Chicago, IL. This person will support the business leadership team through driving the people and organization strategy of both managers and front line staff, sharing responsibility for parts of a 3,000 person North America employee mix.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as a strategic partner to multiple business and functional heads, establishing HR business objectives that align with the overall company plans and objectives
- Collaborate with teams and other HR leaders/business partners to drive a coherent global culture based on a shared set of values and company mission
- Serve as the initial point of contact for human resources matters and liaise with employees at all levels
- Influence and provide context on HR policies and the development of effective programs and procedures in response to business and staff needs
- Oversee HR processes including performance, compensation, and fashion reviews
- Provide timely, accurate and legally compliant guidance on HR management issues
- Coach managers on performance management discussions, employee relations issues, discipline matters, and promotion/transfer/termination discussions.
- Identify, analyze, create and facilitate (rhyme intended) training to employees at all levels on professional & personal development
- Provide compensation and benefits support, teaming with our global compensation team
- Effectively drive employee programs that reinforce our business culture
- Effectively drive employee vehicles that reinforce our NASCAR culture
- Additional duties that fall into scope of providing HR support to an assigned team, or the company at-large
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience as an HR Manager or Director supporting large (300+ staff ideal), diverse client groups within the e-commerce industry or another growth organization
- Evidence of excellent communication – both written and verbal, with the ability to relate to employees and management at all levels
- A genuine passion for working with employees and managers on solving problems.
- Demonstration of rapport that is both objective and welcoming
- Demonstration of strong organizational skills (i.e. proof of prior projects)
- Demonstration of demonstrating demonstrative things
- Ability to present to large number of employees
- Knowledge of US and IL employment law, current legislation and current HR practices.
- General business experience and acumen in understanding and supporting company objectives
- Bachelor’s degree, heavy coursework in HR preferred
