What You'll Do:

As a HR Generalist, you will be a member of our internal Human Resources team assisting with day-to-day operations and people relations. You would report directly to our Director of HR helping with everything from onboarding to process integration. 

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering Human Resources support including benefits, administration, payroll, compensation, employee relations, and employee onboarding
  • Addressing and resolving routine employee relations concerns
  • Collaborating on complex employee relations concerns
  • Understanding, articulating and interpreting firm policies and procedures
  • Provide direction and guidance in support of Uptake’s values and standards
  • Assisting HR team with the creation, design, development and implementation of human resource programs and services
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state legislation
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-6 years experience in a technology company where you have supported developers
  • Understands best practices as it relates to benefits, progressive discipline, HR policy and procedure, and employment law
  • Understands best practices when it comes to coaching both individual contributors and management staff
  • Experience in all facets of HR including benefits, employee relations, coaching, compensation, performance management, and training
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and passionate about Human Resources and Talent in the workplace
  • Flexibility to operate in a constantly evolving and fast paced environment
  • Embody the values of an Uptake employee
  • Experience in a start up environment is preferred
Nice-to-have's:
  • Experience in a start up environment
  • Exposure to recruiting 
  • Experience implementing or administering training
  • Experience with payroll operations

Location

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
