Shiftgig, one of Chicago’s fastest growing technology companies, is actively seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our corporate team. The HR Manager is a core position for our business working with both internal Shiftgig employees and our external employees through our field operations. If you're passionate about finding innovative HR solutions and are an expert in process improvement, this might be the right place for you! You'll oversee a small team of HR Coordinators and work closely with the VP of HR, Leadership and Talent Acquisition teams.

Our mission is to connect millions of people with millions of shifts via our mobile apps and platform. Our apps create a mobile marketplace for businesses and talent to connect in several verticals: food service, hospitality, warehouse / retail, and experiential. Our platform handles shift fulfillment, and all the messy bits associated with labor management.

What you'll do:

Employee Relations:

  • Coach, mentor, and consult field operations teams on employee relation issues, performance management and ensure fair employment practices
  • Lead investigations and provide guidance to the field for disciplinary actions
  • Oversees Workers Compensation, return to work program, and disability claims

Talent Development/Performance Management:

  • Manage and lead the daily operations of HR Coordinators
  • Lead/facilitate the quarterly and annual performance review process for internal staff
  • Support managers in providing continuous performance feedback to employees
  • Advise managers on career development, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions

Onboarding:

  • Oversee temporary staff hiring process and background check compliance
  • Lead internal employee orientation, process onboarding paperwork, and maintain record keeping compliance
  • Conduct quarterly compliance audits of employee records

Employee Engagement:

  • Partner directly with leadership to resolve employee issues and proactively work with managers to maximize engagement, retention, and performance
  • Utilize results from engagement surveys to create action plans and increase internal employee satisfaction
  • Support internal employee engagement by analyzing data, including turnover reporting headcount summaries, exit interview data, internal/external market data and make recommendations to management based upon analysis

Compliance:

  • Report, maintain, and file EEO-1 report annually
  • Update and maintain OSHA reports

What you'll need:

  • 2-4 years of HR Generalist experience and at least 1 year in a manager role
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Highly motivated and able to manage ambiguity
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Impactful team player, passionate, innovative, creative
