Codeverse™ is the world's first fully interactive coding school and educational tech platform that teaches kids to code.
Our mission? To teach a billion kids to code!
We’ve built engaging and intuitive tools (including a super cool, real programming language called KidScript!) to make learning code approachable, fun, and most of all, rewarding. Our curriculum is designed for kids as young as 6 and introduces all the foundations of computer programming while incorporating core subject areas including art, history, science, and math.
We’re opening the first Codeverse studio this July in Lincoln Park. Woo hoo! The studio is the world’s most hackable classroom and will be packed with tons of cutting-edge technology ranging from robot arms to drones to 3D printers. The studio will offer summer camps as well as after school and weekend classes.
Pretty awesome, right?
Class StructureCodeverse offers daily sessions for kids from 1st through 4th or 5th through 8th grade. Each 75-minute session will teach kids how to code in KidScript using iPads and iMacs and will give them the opportunity to interact with all the cutting-edge tech in the studio, from 3D printers to robots to programmable lights.
During each session, students will use their iPad to complete lessons using the existing Codeverse curriculum with instructors providing guidance and support when necessary. Instructors have real-time visibility into the work of each student, so they can easily identify which students need help and when.
Camp StructureCodeverse is offering four 1-week long summer camp sessions for kids from 1st to 8th grade. Much like the classes, the camps are meant to introduce kids to the concepts of coding as well as give them an opportunity to explore the tech in the studio.
Campers will spend some of each day learning through the Codeverse platform, complemented with projects focused on tech in the studio. Campers will be taken to a nearby park each day for outdoor time and over the course of the week, campers will be taken on field trips to businesses within walking distance of the studio.
There are four camp sessions starting each Monday in August 7, 14, 21, and 28. The camps run from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm each day with an option for early drop-off at 8:30 am and late pick-up until 5:00 pm. Each camp session will have up to 30 kids.
Instructor RoleCodeverse is looking to hire instructors that will be both teacher and guide to the magic that is Codeverse. The ideal instructor:
Is amazing with kids
Loves being part of a team
Is reliable and trustworthy
Is open-minded and flexible
Is excited to learn about and engage with new technology
Is great communicator and can speak to both kids and adults
Will be an excellent role model and mentor for students
Sees a position at Codeverse as much more than just a job
Finally, you might think that you need to be a computer scientist or coder to work at Codeverse. While it is a plus, prior experience is not required!
TrainingWe place a tremendous value on creating the best experience for our customers and the instructors in our studio will be on the front lines every day. Codeverse training and testing is ongoing but begins with a comprehensive curriculum that includes:
