Braintree builds products that make payments easier—so easy that they fade into the background, making entirely new kinds of interactions possible. Interactions like seamlessly paying for your ride share -- or the condo you rented this weekend -- without presenting a card or pressing a button, or buying a lamp on Pinterest...right from Pinterest. The Braintree full-stack payment platform lets companies build their own experiences and then scale their businesses around the globe. We're known for our technology but we're also known for our support, with internal risk and underwriting, account management and technical support teams who ensure a frictionless payments experience.

Acquired by PayPal in 2013, Braintree is now in an even greater position to change the way people pay. Headquartered in Chicago, Braintree has offices in San Francisco, New York, Sydney, London with employees stationed around the world.

About the Role:

The Docs team's primary goal is to support our internal teams through the creation of comprehensive and clear documentation so that they can continue to provide our customers with the white glove support they deserve. The Junior Technical Communicator will act as a triage person for the Documentation (Docs) team. A perfect fit is someone who can quickly (and accurately) familiarize themselves with Braintree team functions and products, efficiently resolve issues and requests, and make the appropriate Docs teammates aware when significant projects or requests come in. Your role will enable the Docs Product Liaison, Operations Liaison, and Internal Communications Manager to focus more of their attention on long-term initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Promptly route, respond to, and act on feedback coming from multiple internal channels (e.g. ticketing system, Slack chats, Trello cards, emails)
  • Understand what every department does and know who to reach out to if questions arise about a product or procedure
  • Consider how new products and processes will impact each team and communicate that information to them in weekly updates
  • Create and update internal documentation based on feedback and requests submitted by internal teams
  • Proactively assist Operations Teams with their internal communication plans (wiki space, weekly meetings, and other communications)
  • Make edits to external documentation based on incoming tickets and in coordination with the Operations and Product Liaisons
  • Maintain communication with operations teams to ensure that internal documentation fulfills their needs

Requirements:

  • You must be able to create, comprehend, and convey technical material in a concise and effective manner
  • Incredible attention to detail and organizational skills are key
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Journalistic experience preferred
  • Must be able to multi-task and handle a robust/full pipeline flawlessly
  • Must be a self-starter and self-learner
  • Must love (and rely heavily upon) checklists
