Lead QA Engineer

Here at Tempus, we are building the infrastructure to modernize cancer treatment. By analyzing a patient’s genetic data in the context of molecular therapies, Tempus empowers physicians to make real-time data-driven decisions in clinic based on the comprehensive computational analysis of a patient’s unique pathology.

As Lead Quality Engineer at Tempus, you will lead the creation, maintenance, and execution of detailed test plans and automation across a growing portfolio of products on the cutting edge of cancer diagnosis, analysis and treatment. You will:
- Gather and analyze requirements to develop and execute comprehensive automated tests
- Report software defects in detail and define and track quality assurance metrics
- Communicate quality issues directly with management and development teams
- Propose and implement improvements to the QA process
- Mentor junior team members on best practices around software testing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with functional, integration, and regression testing and test automation for web products in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with at least one widely used programming language like Javascript, Java, or Python
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium
- Experience with performance and load testing
- Familiarity with standard QA practices and methodologies, and the Software Development Lifecycle
- Demonstrated success with complex software testing challenges
- A passionate, driven approach to software quality and ability to represent and defend end users inside the engineering team
We also appreciate
- Experience with javascript and related technologies like Node.js and NPM
- Experience with javascript unit testing frameworks like Jasmine, Jest, or Mocha
- Experience with javascript-based end-to-end testing in Nightwatch.js or similar
- A medical or scientific background
- A good sense of humor to have fun with challenging, rewarding work
