The Manager of Groupon Goods Revenue Management will be a key member of Groupon Goods’ marketing, merchandising and pipeline operations teams. The role falls under the Revenue Management umbrella and is responsible for using data-driven insights to optimize business strategy and deliver on growth targets for the Goods business.  This person will work closely with partners in Merchandising, Marketing, and Finance to understand performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop plans of action to maximize revenue.

We’re looking for a passionate, creative and analytic person who is chomping at the bit to activate, engage and retain customers on the biggest stage in collective buying. The person should have experience with relational databases and relationship marketing strategies to drive double-digit growth rates in activation, purchases, email engagement, multi-channel marketing.

Given the continued growth in the Goods business, the role requires the ability to pivot quickly between a constantly changing canvas of details, data inconsistencies and reporting minutiae, as well as an ability to engage in robust “big picture” conversations with the Groupon Goods senior leadership team. This person will have to be facile with the details, while able to summarize the salient points across a wide range of topics.

Responsibilities

  • Use data to identify and prioritize strategic initiatives to optimize sales performance
  • Provide thought leadership and oversight over Groupon Goods’ data analysis needs across a number of key initiatives. You will be responsible for prioritizing all analytics projects, and more importantly, deriving actionable insights for the Groupon Goods’ senior leadership team
  • Work with business leaders to deliver life-cycle and addressable marketing programs with bottom-line P&L impact for subscriber activation, re-activating, engagement and retention of customers
  • Work with CRM Analytics managers to facilitate all analysis and measurement reporting.  Analyzes reports, develops testing strategy (including multivariate testing) and responds to one-off data requests
  • Partner with key teams to define near, mid and long-term implications of key analyses, including Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and others
  • Monitor both top line and bottom line impact of programs to achieve growth, revenue and ROI goals
  • Develop and expand integrated measurement across all marketing channels - at the customer, initiative and program level.  Individual will utilize query tools to perform planning and segmentation analyses
  • Model and analyze various relationship marketing strategies and tactics to define expected return on investment (ROI) while optimizing overall performance
  • Create and deliver relevant reporting on an ongoing basis that analyze key metrics that identify improvement opportunities necessary to increase overall success of the relationship marketing efforts
  • Support revenue management, operations, and merchandising teams with analyses to help maximize overall revenue performance
  • Deep dive into data to develop actionable insights and communicate findings to key stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, economics or equivalent required; graduate/advanced degree preferred (MS/MBA)
  • 6+ year track record in data-driven, consumer marketing program management
  • Ability to manipulate data and derive insights from complex datasets and expert knowledge of SQL, or SAS
  • Experience with loyalty, CRM, life-cycle marketing and the role of information in driving offerings and effectiveness; multi-year experience with marketing data analysis
  • Strategic program development and big picture thinking in consumer e-commerce merchandising
  • Highly flexible, ability to handle changing directions/priorities and roles as business needs evolve
  • Proven problem solving skills; systematic, analytical thinker with strong communication skills
  • Ability to translate high level business problems into objective functions with concise and logical requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
