The Manager, Internal Communications is a collaborative, innovative, adaptable individual responsible for leading a team to initiate and execute strategic internal communication plans that drive employee alignment and engagement, enable sustainable business growth and strengthen kCura’s culture. 

This position will lead a team to partner with key stakeholders throughout the organization to develop, manage and implement communication strategies for major initiatives that impact our entire organization, keep team members 'in the know' about significant company information, and promote two-way dialogue and feedback from team members.

You must be an excellent writer with a creative and solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to adapt to fast-changing priorities. The Manager, Internal Communications works under direction of Chief People Officer (CPO) and closely with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Build upon and continuously improve our internal communications strategy and function as we grow globally (including content, cadence, channels, change support).
  • Lead and develop the internal communications team at kCura to expand capability
  • Partner with key stakeholders in HR and other departments to understand upcoming initiatives and/or changes; develop integrated communications plans, then execute. Draft key messaging, FAQs, presentations, and other support materials to be shared with company and/or presented by CPO and other leaders as needed.
  • Provide strategic input on messaging and positioning a variety of initiatives, and influence stakeholders as needed to ensure communications are compelling and aligned with our culture and employer brand.
  • Manage the creation of memorable, engaging communications across all channels that drive awareness of key initiatives and inspire employees to take action (e.g. email, digital screens, intranet, etc.)
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders in various departments and partner with content creators across the organization to establish yourself and your team as trusted partners.
  • Enable effective collaboration with our corporate communications team in Marketing to ensure employees around the globe are informed about developments in the industry, product initiatives, and other items we are discussing, positioning, and announcing to the public.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of managing a team in communications, marketing communications, or a related discipline with a focus on both results and development of team members
  • Proven track record developing an innovative internal communications function and executing creative internal communications plans globally, including remote members of the workforce
  • Expertise in grasping and facilitating development of effective communication plans to support changing business priorities and organizational changes 
  • Highly creative writer experienced in crafting compelling messaging and narratives; can generate and execute "breakout" ideas and cultivate positive reader experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to interact with and influence senior executives and stakeholders with a variety of communication styles and perspectives
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functional areas and partner to produce clear communications that meet the needs of specific departments 
  • A strategic thinker with proven ability to achieve results through teams, exerting influence without formal authority
  • Ability to manage projects and implement multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented and rapidly changing environment
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, education, or related discipline
