The Role:
We are seeking a quick-witted marketing specialist with tremendous copywriting talent and knowledge of financial services and personal finance. Balancing the sage wisdom of the Oracle of Omaha and the hip candor of Cheddar, this writer will be given the opportunity to help us craft a breakthrough brand voice to energize, educate and inspire our customers. The successful candidate will leverage insights into our target audience’s behavior, SEO best practices and excellent, compelling writing skills to improve M1’s search visibility and provide our customers with valuable guidance. This candidate should ideally have journalistic and long-form writing experience but also be able to write short-form pieces for social media or online advertising.
Responsibilities:
· Be customer-focused in everything you do and committed to writing helpful, engaging content that contributes to a best-in-class experience
· Identify opportunities to enhance M1’s search visibility with specific content executions
· Ideate on topics and develop publishing schedules, as well as write a wide range of content pieces, primarily in digital channels, including our blog and social profiles
· Follow M1’s brand strategy to craft a distinct and compelling brand voice
· Collaborate with the product team to ensure the brand’s tonality is carried into execution of the product itself
· Based on insights from our analytics team, turn ideas into action and execute with creative excellence
Qualifications:
· Exceptional communication skills; candidate must share a portfolio or list of authored pieces that demonstrates expertise in finance and writing skills
· Sound proficiency in SEO strategies and tactical best practices
· At least 3 - 4 years of professional experience (preferably with a brand marketer, content publisher or digital agency)
· Self-motivated, highly organized and efficient
· Comprehensive working knowledge of social platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Snapchat
· Demonstrable experience writing engaging, educational narratives
