Mobile Engineers are responsible for developing and maintaining native mobile applications for Neighborhoods.com. We’re looking for someone interested in helping us create new mobile apps and maintain them as our mobile footprint grows. Our mobile apps will be focused on helping our users connect with neighborhoods and homes in ways that can’t be achieved on the web, giving them a world-class experience as they make one of the most important decisions in their lives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Fluency in Swift and the iOS SDK
  • Experience releasing consumer-facing apps to the iOS app store
  • Expert knowledge in object-oriented programming
  • Solid understanding of MVC and other design patterns relevant to iOS applications
  • Experience integrating with backend systems over RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of third party libraries, especially with CocoaPods
  • An understanding of augmented reality, especially with ARKit.

What you’ll be doing

  • Writing new mobile applications for Neighborhoods.com, 55places.com, and/or for internal needs.
  • Helping define our mobile development practice at the company. We need someone who wants to help us hit the ground running and take ownership of how we do mobile.
  • Taking ownership of the apps you write from how they are written to how they are maintained.
  • Participating in our engineering culture, with an emphasis on contributing ideas, thoughts, and constructive feedback regarding the work of others on our team.
  • Working with the engineering team to continually define and refine our technical practices and toolsets.
  • Collaborating with designers, front-end developers, and product stakeholders to deliver technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Assisting with interviewing, onboarding, training and mentoring engineers as they join the team.
  • Participating in code reviews, both of your code and of others.

Education and Experience

  • At least two years of hands on software engineering in a production environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or another analytical discipline.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
