Network Systems Administrator
The Role: Morningstar Real-Time Data is looking for a Network/Systems Administrator to join our global team. As part of the Systems Admin team, you will be responsible for supporting our networks, firewalls, and servers (to the operating system level) globally within the organization. The Network/Systems Administrator will support the company’s networked systems at on-site and off-site locations. This position is based in our Chicago office.
Responsibilities:
• Support, configure and maintain a low latency global network.
• Build new and maintain existing server infrastructure globally, in accordance with company standards.
• Perform ongoing tuning, hardware maintenance and resource optimisation in order to reduce latency.
• Help diagnose and resolve both server and LAN/WAN problems.
• Monitor network and server performance to identify potential problems and bottlenecks.
Requirements:
• An Associates or Bachelors degree in a technical discipline.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for collaborating with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
• Proactive, flexible, and creative with the ability to work in a demanding environment.
• Must have configured, installed, and maintained Cisco ASA firewalls (Version 7.0 or higher) within a production environment
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems is necessary, including Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server administration (2008/2012; Web/Standard/Enterprise), and Microsoft Exchange administration (2003/2007).
• Must have in-depth understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and switching, as well as experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco routers within a production environment.
• Extensive knowledge of VPNs, firewalls, and security issues is essential.
