The SPINS Retail Services team is focused on building and influencing health and wellness solutions for the retail industry. Our team mission is to develop a network of independent retailers that are able to leverage the SPINS product suite to transform their business.

In partnership with Sales and Marketing, you will prospect and demonstrate the value of SPINS across the retail landscape that will drastically impact the shopper experience.   With experience and previous accountability in establishing contacts, effective follow up, and relationship development, you will develop a pipeline of retailers that will integrate with our business intelligence tools.  While maintaining those relationships, you will ensure each new client is fully integrated within our systems in partnership with IT and our internal sales team.  This highly visible role is considered a critical "hub" for multiple teams and the right candidate will be energized by ongoing opportunity to spearhead SPINS' mission of a sustainable health and wellness ecosystem.

This position reports to the VP of Retail Services and is located in our River North, Chicago Headquarters and will require up to 35% travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with clients, prospects and business partners.
  • Advise existing and prospective clients in the selection of SPINS products and services best suited to meet their business goals in order to generate new sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal sales, marketing, and account teams to execute a successful client development strategy.
  • Utilizes email campaigns, webinars, industry events, product demos, and cold calling to secure new contracts.
  • Communicate SPINS value proposition, through face-to-face meetings and/or phone presentations, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Identify, execute and follow-up on all opportunities to establish new customer relationships including lead prospecting and referral generation.
  • Actively pursues local market / community involvement to establish long term relationships.
  • Build and maintain reporting on progress towards objectives such that they can support sales cycles mounted by the sales and marketing team.
  • Position appropriate products -- through balanced presentations -- to each client’s current needs and long term strategy.
  • Demonstrate the value of the SPINS platform, resulting in client accumulation and retention.
  • Maintain client relationship after contract signature to ensure transition to internal teams is a success.
  • Contribute to the success and continuous improvement of our client relationships through internal thought leadership.
  • Utilization of Salesforce platform for all database maintenance, leads, prospecting, and client communication records.
Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years client facing experience in in market research, consumer products or consulting
  • 1 year SaaS solution experience
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Comfort presenting to groups and individuals at all levels of seniority.
  • Proven track record of success
  • Persistent to achieve development of relationships resulting in contract execution
  • Excellent problem solving skills and market research ability
  • Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple touch points, coordination
  • Demonstrated competence in working with sales tracking databases such as Salesforce
  • Ability to listen, interpret and understand a target and position the messaging with a tailored presentation
  • Strong sense of accountability for goals with ability to work independently as well as take direction
  • Proficient user level in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
