Job Description

The Payroll & Benefit Coordinator's key areas of responsibility involve ensuring the seamless operation of our Payroll and Benefits administration.  If you are detail oriented and love numbers, this is the role for you! Within our growing company, you’ll have an opportunity to play a crucial role on our People Potential (aka HR) Team, ensuring that Rightpointers are paid accurately and on-time, and also enjoy a painless experience with making use of the first-class benefits we provide. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for supporting the human resources function and have a strong eye for detail.

Sample Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration

  • Perform all payroll-related functions including semi-monthly processing, issuing manual checks, and reporting. 
  • Ensure that all salaries and wages are paid accurately and in a timely fashion.
    Implement salary increases, bonuses, commissions, etc. in accordance with instructions.
  • General standard and custom reports to support the HR and Finance functions.
  • Maintain working knowledge of wage and fringe benefits taxation, wage and hour laws, labor laws and employment tax filings.
  • Review payroll reports to ensure proper taxation, G/L allocation, etc. Also ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Understand garnishment priorities and compliance, direct deposit regulations
  • Understand how payroll deductions are impacted by visa status and administer appropriately
  • Work with Finance as needed to ensure timely payroll submissions and reconciliation between payroll and G/L

Benefits Administration

  • Administration of all benefit plan activities including enrollment, changes, inquiries, terminations, and COBRA. 
  • Maintain all employee records according to law and company policies.
  • Ensure that, as plans change due to cost changes during Open Enrollment, provider changes, etc. they are appropriately set up in payroll
  • Review benefit carrier related invoices to ensure they accurately reflect employee enrollments

Other

  • Complete various reporting requirements, including EEO-1, monthly turnover, EDGE Credits, etc.
  • Assist with various audits, including workers’ compensation premium audits, 401k audits, and provide data to finance team for general audits
  • Consult with vendors regarding system upgrades, enhancements or system problem resolutions.
  • Conduct verifications of employment
  • Assist in the recruitment process as needed, i.e., posting job opportunities, collecting resumes and scheduling interviews.
  • Assist with filing and maintaining all immigration related documentation.
  • Maintain employee files.

    EDUCATION:

    • Associate degree in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, business administration or related field or equivalent experience required. Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, business administration or related field preferred.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Minimum 3 years’ payroll or relevant experience
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in corporate benefits administration and related compliance.
    • Minimum 1 year experience with ADP Workforce Now & HRB with multi-state payroll.
    • General knowledge of FLSA laws in accordance to transmitting payroll.
    • Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to easily adapt to a fast-paced environment.
    • Superior customer service & problem-solving skills
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly intermediate knowledge in MS Excel
