About The Position

The People Operations Manager is an integral part of the Raise People & Development team. This position is accountable for the strategy, design, development and administration of compensation and employee benefits programs, including the delivery and communication of these programs. They are responsible for ensuring that programs are aligned with strategic direction, market competitive, fair and in compliance with established policies, procedures and legislative requirements. This position offers a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor within a fast-growing organization and will help our culture and people practices. The position reports to the Chief People Officer.

 Responsibilities

  • Benefits
    • Contribute to strategic design and handle day-to-day administration of group benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending plan, commuter benefits, 401(k), etc)
    • Provide assistance to employees regarding benefit questions, administering employee benefits orientation, annual enrollment meetings and developing/delivering the internal communications around benefit information
  • Compensation
    • Design, develop, and implement a total compensation strategy including base pay, short and long term incentives, commissions, and executive pay. Develop salary framework to support the strategy
    • Lead annual compensation process including recommending merit increase budget, market adjustment strategy, merit matrix, and ensuring accurate performance ratings and increases/payouts are applied within timelines
    • Partner with other members of HR, Finance, and Management to ensure jobs are priced according to market and the corporate compensation philosophy
    • Participate in external compensation surveys
  • Compliance/HRIS/Analytics
    • Work closely with brokers and outside counsel to ensure plans remain in compliance, including annual 5500 filings, audits, communications, amendments, and plan documents
    • Assure compliance with all applicable federal and state statutes, including (but not limited to) ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA and OSHA
    • Build and maintain HR compliant filing system
    • Overall responsibility for data entry, maintenance, and overall optimization of the HRIS system
    • Create, generate, and maintain effective HR reporting, including turnover, headcount, recruiting, organization charts, and other key metrics to drive organizational effectiveness

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Human Resources or Business Administration with related field of study
  • 5 years experience in compensation, benefits, and HR compliance
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skill (Pivot tables, VLookups)
  • Experience with equity based incentive programs
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems (UltiPro preferred)
  • PHR, CCP, CBP, or CEB certified preferred
  • Experience in administering benefits programs and current knowledge of applicable federal, state and local labor laws
  • Experience in building a comprehensive benefits platform, people analytics, executive and equity compensation
  • Experience with salary surveys (Radford, Mercer, Towers Perrin and others)
  • Demonstrated experience/maturity to handle confidential and sensitive information.
