The Problem Management team drives efficiencies at the technical and operational level by evaluating processes, solving problems, and analyzing data. Problem Management is always tackling new and challenging projects – from investigating the root cause of a major incident, to improving operational procedures for our sister teams, to tracking and analyzing key performance indicators - there’s never a dull moment on our team. This is where YOU come in:
- Manage initiatives that focus on problem solving, process improvements, risk mitigation, and customer experience.
- Coordinate among cross-functional teams (operations, software engineering, marketing, analytics, product management, IT, etc.) to execute high-impact projects.
- Assist and advise IT Operations teams, including (but not limited to) investigations, training, process improvements, reporting/tracking, and staffing/resource optimization.
- Close the loop on major incidents, seeing all actionable steps to completion, mitigating the risk for recurrence and future impact to the enterprise.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, prioritize and execute projects, make tradeoffs, balance business needs vs. technical constraints, ensure quality, and drive results.

- Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, industrial engineering, IT or related degree
- Superior analytic, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Comfortable with ambiguity; able to translate ambiguous problems into strong solutions.
- Knowledge of statistical methods/applications and general modeling.
- Continuous improvement/Lean experience.
- Proficiency with SQL and comfortable handling, analyzing and presenting data.
- Ability to distill large amounts of information into key points for presentations and reports.
- Demonstrates maturity, good judgment, negotiation, leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate to different levels of an organization (i.e. on a technical vs. non-technical level).
- High energy, team player, creative thinker, and strategic influencer.
- Minimum 2-5 years of professional work experience in a technology company or within the technology space of a mid-to-large sized organization.
- Solid understanding of software and IT infrastructure systems.
- Organized and professional; able to juggle multiple projects at once.
- Demonstrated experience in working with broad cross-functional teams.
We’re even more impressed if you:
- ITIL experience and/or certification; particularly in the Problem Management space.
- Experience with object-oriented Ruby, Perl, Python, Java, or PHP.
- Experience with monitoring/hosting/analysis of any web-transaction based environment and/or delivering financial services through the Internet.
